I am happy to share that as of day fifteen (of my 90-day challenge) my goal of ‘moving my body every single day… ‘no matter what’ has been met with success. YEAH! Something I have added to my 30-60 daily minutes on the treadmill is reading. In all my years of being in and out of dozens of gyms, I have never read on the treadmill. But now I find it’s a must… and LOVE it. My most resent find is “The War of Art” by Steven Pressfield. Not only I’m I devouring it, but I highly recommend it. He writes about ‘The Unlived Life’ and ‘Resistance’. It is his quote that I started with which inspired this week’s blog.

“Resistance Recruits Allies – Resistance by definition is ‘self-sabotage’.

But there’s a parallel peril that must also be guarded against: sabotage by others.”

~ Steven Pressfield – The War of Art

And so I ask… who is the company you keep? Who do you choose to let in? Who is living rent free in your head? Do they (whoever they are) really desire the highest good for you? Do you for yourself… for them?

In the midst of making your dreams come true, creating a life and business that you love (and deserve); raising your level of consciousness and DOING THE WORK (which if you didn’t already know IS in fact a requirement), have you have ever felt like you might be outgrowing some of your relationships? Well… brace yourself. You probably are. I know for a lot of people that can be a very scary prospect, but is it not worse to live an unrealized life? Have you ever stopped short of your goal or walked away from a project you were crazy about? Have you ever said “no thanks” to an opportunity when what you really wanted to say was “Yes!”? Have you ever ‘dumbed it down’ or pretend to not be as smart, strong, talented or ‘creative’ as you really are? Was it because you didn’t want someone to feel bad or think differently of you? Did you sense you might be on different paths and didn’t want to lose them? Regardless the reason, there’s ‘NOT ONE’ that is good enough for not pursuing the life you are truly meant to live.

The truth is, it’s quite possible that some people in your life are going to get uncomfortable with this ‘newer, expanded, empowered, more awakened version of you. Here is another truth: “no one can hold you back… but YOU. PERIOD! The choice is ALWAYS yours! And as soon as you become acutely aware that sabotage and resistance comes in many forms (internal + external, consciously + unconsciously) and that at its core, it is FEAR, you can immediately equip yourself with the tools needed to combat it. Here are a few tips that I hope you will find helpful to ‘staying the course to finding your bliss’.

 Do The Work!

Push past the resistance (it’s a liar)

 Be unapologetic

Show up’ in spite feeling scared

 Be ‘You’ bravely

Lead by example (others might want to join you)

Don’t buy into anyone’s bullshit (you’re doing them a huge disservice)

Expect those who love you to not to buy into your bullshit (they’ll be doing you a favor)

 Be rebellious

 Have really good boundaries

FIGHT self-centered fear with all you’ve got (it’s truly the killer of dreams and ‘it is’ the enemy)

Have a crystal clear vision of what you truly desire

 Don’t settle

Create a movement in your life

 Be kind to yourself

Surround yourself with people who want the very best for you (and you for them)

Remember that it’s often awkward before it’s graceful

Don’t give up before the magic happens

Be absolutely willing to Do The Work!

In closing, I am inspired to share with you M. Scott Peck’s definition of love, along with his disclaimer and admission that “to give a single definition of love is likely to be in some way or ways… inadequate” Never the less, his definition on love has had a profound effect on me lately and he defines love as this: “The will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth.” Enough said.

My wish is that we can all experience love to that degree. That we may extend that kind of grace for both ourselves and for those we genuinely care about and hold the space for their highest good and our own.

To your success and your creative bliss,

Hello my friends and welcome

It’s a new dawn… it’s a new day… it’s a new life for me… and I’m feeling good! WOW… I’m so happy to be here, with you!

As I mentioned last week, those who know me and the work I do, know that I am a champion for women and entrepreneurs and my goal is to help them feel empowered, embrace change and create a business and life that they love. That said… I realized that the first woman I MUST empower is me, and this blog is the beginning of that journey and I am over the moon to share it with you.

Last Friday marked 3-months to the day until my next birthday and I thought “how do I want to feel on December 7th” (my birthday) and that was all it took. So I decided to set a 90-challenge for myself and that I’d kick things off with the launch of my blog. What I want is what I think many women want. I want to feel vibrant, present, happy, loved, successful, beautiful, independent and purposeful… that my work matters. Even though I love what I do and I’m really good at it, there has been something missing for some time and that’s been ‘self-care’. Not too long ago, I heard someone say “I changed my life when I changed my attitude” and that’s what I’ve done and I’ve committed to the following:

1.) Move every single day (as in exercise) be it for 2-hours at the gym or a 20-min walk – check

2.) Start the day off with a delicious green juice – check

3.) Show up no matter what… in spite of how I might be feeling
(note: change tends to kick some dust up and can be a bit uncomfortable… do it anyway!) – check

4.) Talk to at least one new person every day about my business
(mentoring and brand development for remarkable female entrepreneurs) – check

5.) Be fearless… even when I am terrified – check

6.) Remember “the only way out of it is through it” – check

7.) Connect with at least one amazing women every day and to ask “how can I help you today?” – check

8.) Write a weekly blog post (no matter what) – check

9.) Recognize that I am enough and I have everything I need – check

10.) Let go… embrace change… take the leap (the water is perfect) – check

I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the most unabashed, astonishing, fearless women who I am choosing to surround myself with and who have inspired and encouraged me to launch this ‘inaugural’ weekly blog and for that, I thank you! It is my heart’s desire to connect, encourage, inspire and most definitely CELEBRATE with YOU! So wherever you are in your journey, let there be no doubt… you are essential and you matter. We…matter!

In closing, I want to say this…”IT’S NO LONGER BUSINESS AS USUAL” not by a long shot. So it’s time to “get on your boots” girls!” Your ass kicking, take no prisoner, uncompromising, we seriously mean business – boots!! As U2 says, “Women are the future… all the big revelations!” So who’s with me? Let’s do this this…

See you next week… with tips, ideas, honesty, encouragement and LOVE!

To your success and creative bliss,
